Nicotine strength shown as a percent is grams per 100 mL, so 5% is 50 mg in every mL. For a custom liquid, enter the strength straight in mg/mL. To get the nicotine in one puff, take the nicotine in the whole device and divide by how many puffs it holds.
The cigarette figure compares absorbed nicotine, not the amount sitting in tobacco. A cigarette holds about 10 to 14 mg of nicotine, but a smoker absorbs only about 1 mg of it. Vaping delivers roughly half the nicotine in the liquid you consume, so this counts about one cigarette for every 2 mg you vape, which is why a standard 40 mg pod lands near a pack. Absorption varies from person to person, so treat it as a ballpark, not a lab result.

Packs per day is your cigarettes divided by cigarettes per pack. Everything else follows from the price of one pack.
Nicotine is an estimate: a cigarette holds about 10 to 14 mg of nicotine, and a smoker absorbs roughly 1 mg of it. Time assumes about 6 minutes per cigarette. Prices and habits vary, so treat this as a ballpark, not an audit.
